On Tuesday, Feb. 20, a mock interview session was hosted by SVSU’s Society of Women Engineers (SWE), an RSO which operates as a professional development group for SVSU’s women in STEM.
This event was aimed at empowering SWE members for their future careers by preparing them for the interviewing process. At the event, sample interview questions were displayed on screen, with attendees practicing answering, with small groups breaking into discussion.
The mock interviews included questions on leadership skills, strengths and weaknesses, and many more. Refreshments were also provided at the event.
Megan Thiravong, President of SWE explained the set-up of the event.
“If the mock interview was between you and I, I would ask you a question like name a time when you had to utilize your leadership skills, you answer and you ask me again then the time to tell myself.”
The RSO normally hosts 15-20 Members, mostly Mechanical Engineering students.
“We would like to do lot of events like this professional development and Hemlock Semiconductor tour on the 22nd of March.” Thiravong said.
SWE meets Tuesdays at 4:30 in Pioneer Hall 242.
