“Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” is a 1970 Christmas classic. It uses traditional stop-motion animation to bring the holidays to life, featuring everyone’s favorite grouchy mayor, Burgermeister Meisterburger. As a child, my brother and I even had a stuffed penguin named Topper after Kris’s sweet friend. We grew up watching this every Christmas with our mom and stepdad, and it’s a favorite around our house for a reason! Give “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” a watch this Christmas season.

“We’re No Angels” is an oldie, but a goodie. The 1955 film is set on a French prison Island and follows three escaped convicts as they stumble upon a shop owner in dire strait. Fully intending to rob him, they find a way into his life but soon have a change of heart — more or less. It’s a witty, timeless movie punctuated with comedy, but just heart-warming enough that you can’t help but look past the film’s two murders and into the Christmas cheer.

“Violent Night” is a must-watch Christmas comedy that delivers the perfect mix of holiday cheer and shocking twists. The movie is packed with festive felonies, hostages, and an ending worthy of an Emmy. With David Harbour playing Santa Claus, no viewer will be having a silent night. This film easily earns a 5/5 Christmas-cookie rating, and it would be an unfestive felony not to watch it.

“Home Alone” is every kid’s imagination come to life. This 1990 Christmas staple follows Kevin as he goes from having the house all to himself to becoming the innovative protector against a pair of clumsy robbers. The movie is filled with booby traps, holiday mischief, and comical moments that will have you invested in Christmas chaos. And if you’ve ever wanted to fight off villains with DIY projects, take notes—this movie is for you!
