Nick Bozarth, a mechanical engineering student and cross-country team member, is finishing up his season at SVSU on November 18th with a post-season NCAA Division II championship meet at Missouri Southern.
Bozarth’s goal for his time his remaining time here at SVSU is to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and to continue becoming his best as a collegiate runner.
This season, Bozarth celebrated with his team throughout the season. He enjoyed watching the competitive nature of his teammates come out throughout their meets.
Bozarth also spent time this season helping incoming athletes get situated.
“I [look] forward to helping the incoming athletes be as successful as possible during their time here at SVSU,” Bozarth said.
The affordability of SVSU’s classes was factored into his decision, but he also decided that the atmosphere created by his teammates and coaches was why he chose to attend SVSU.
Playing for SVSU has had an impact on Bozarth in many different ways. His favorite part of playing for the team is the training and the competition.
“The people I get to be competitive with on a daily basis make training enjoyable. The team is full of leaders and very well-rounded individuals,” he said.
The cross-country team finished their regular season on Nov. 4, with a regional championship meet at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio.
The results have not been posted yet, but should be available soon on SVSU’s Sports website.
