Feb. 18 saw the end of a 4-day-long swimming competition at the Holland Aquatic Center.
SVSU finished fifth overall for both men and women’s.
The 400-yard relay was the last event of the meet.
Senior Alejandro Robles Ruiz, sophomore Logan Fox, sophomore Eric Slabbert, and freshman Almos Szedlak came in second with a time of 2:57.17.
Robles Ruiz also came in second place in the 200-yard backstroke.
He finished that with a time of 1:46.09. Slabbert finished the 200-yard backstroke as well with a time of 1:47.34. Both made time for the B cut finish.
Fox competed in the 100-yard freestyle where he came in third.
He finished in a time of 44.79 seconds. Sophomore Benjamin Wainman was the final B cut for the team.
He finished the 1,650-yard freestlye with a time of 15:39.38.
SVSU finished overall with 301 points for the women’s team and 403.5 for the men’s.
The next meet will be on March 7-11 in Indianapolis.
