Police briefs are written based on reports from University Police. They indicate preliminary descriptions of events and not necessarily actual incidents
At 11:06 p.m. Sept. 1, officers responded to a call in UV West for marijuana odor. The officers could detect a faint odor of marijuana from inside. The resident student stated that she did not have any marijuana. She gave officers permission to search her room. After searching her room, nothing was found. The incident was turned over to Student Conduct.
At 11:27 p.m. Sept. 3, officers were called to Pine Grove for the smell of marijuana. Upon arrival, officers made contact with two resident students and two visitors. All subjects admitted to smoking earlier but did not have anything with them.
On Sept. 1, a parent reported that a group of males had entered Living Center South a few days earlier. The subjects were found on camera and did not appear to be students. Patrols are happening in the resident halls now.
At 2:00 p.m. Sept. 1, a 20-year-old resident student reported that she either lost her cell phone or it was stolen. The phone was recovered later that night.
At 9:55 a.m. Sept. 2, a 19-year-old resident student reported that someone had stolen his parking permit from his vehicle. The investigation is still open.
At 3:52 p.m. Sept. 2, an 18-year- old resident reported to a Student Center employee that she was being stalked by a male student. Investigation revealed it was not stalking, but just a coincidence she kept seeing the same person.
At 6:15 p.m. Sept. 8, two residents reported that another student had posted threatening posts about them online. All parties were interviewed, and the incident was turned over to Student Conduct.
At 12:15 p.m. Sept. 10, officers were called to Merry Jo Brandimore
for a disorderly subject. They discovered a non-student preaching to passerby. Officers maintained the peace and assisted the subject off campus.
