The men’s soccer team was defeated by Parkside 2-0 on Friday, Oct. 4.
The Parkside Rangers were able to score their first goal of the game within the first 20 minutes. The Cards worked hard to score a goal outshooting Parkside, 17-11.
Six of The Cardinal’s shots were on goal. Leading with a team-high of four shots was freshman Kairo Coore. Junior goalkeeper Damon Savero made two saves during his time on the field.
The first period of the game ended with Parkside in the lead, 1-0.
The second period went on with no goals until the last 10 minutes of the game. Parkside was able to make a goal, bringing the score to 2-0. SVSU attempted to make a goal with a shot but ultimately failed leaving Parkside with the win.
The Cards played again Sunday, Oct. 6, against Northwood University, which concluded prior to this production of The Valley Vanguard. They will also take to the field Friday, Oct. 11, against Northwood.
