Suspicious Person
At 11:10 a.m. on Dec. 11, an 18-year-old female student reported that while jogging outside, she was approached by a middle-aged male. He pulled up next to her in his vehicle and told her that his foot was hurt and he was looking for a trainer to help with rehabilitation. She told him she was not interested and ran off. The next day,
she was jogging again and the same male pulled up and asked the same thing again. The vehicle was described as a 2005 model and dark green. The rear rims are silver and the front are black. This was still under investigation.
Assault
At 3:41 a.m. on Jan. 5, officers received a call for a domestic assault in progress. 911 dispatch had received a call from an 18-year-old female student who was screaming on the other end of the line that she was being assaulted. The phone cut off shortly after. When officers arrived, they found the female alone with no signs of being assaulted. The student advised the alleged assailant was her ex-boyfriend and he had left in his vehicle. Officers put out a notification to watch for the vehicle, which was located in Saginaw Township. The female was transported to the hospital for treatment and the suspect was arrested for domestic assault and another warrant.
Disorderly Conduct
At 11:15 p.m. on Jan. 5, a 28-year-old male non-student was attending a wedding reception and began to say rude and inappropriate things to a bartender. He became upset at one point and started to swear at the employee. He was asked to leave and given a trespass letter.
Larceny
At 2:50 p.m. on Dec. 6, an 18-year-old female student reported that someone
stole her water filter pitcher from her dorm in Merry Jo Brandimore House. She suspected that it was two male students, but they denied that they took it. After officers investigated, they found that the pitcher was put into the dumpster by the two male students. It was returned to the owner, and the situation was turned over to Student Conduct Programs for review.
At 1:05 p.m. on Dec. 7, a 38-year-old female student reported that she left her wallet in the black box theatre. When she went to go back and get it, it was gone. This was still under investigation.
Trespassing
At 11:20 p.m. on Dec. 11, a 20-year-old male non-student was arrested for trespassing on campus in Merry Jo Brandimore House. He had been given a trespass letter previously and was found back on SVSU property.
