The Residence Housing Association (RHA) hosts their annual fall bingo on Oct. 16 from 7:30 – 9 p.m. in Wickes 115.
This semester’s event will feature fall-inspired items including hot cocoa, blankets, Squishmallows and other comfort items — along with a few Halloween surprises to celebrate the season.
“The purpose behind our bingos is to create connections with as many different students as we can,” RHA president, junior social work major Dan Harris said. “It’s a way for us to make RHA known across campus and offer a fun time for students.”
RHA has been hosting bingo nights since 2023, with Grocery Bingo being one of the most popular events each semester. RHA holds grocery bingo at the start of both fall and winter semesters each year, offering students the chance to win household essentials while meeting new people.
Beyond bingo, RHA also hosts craft nights and plans to organize advocacy events.
“[Advocacy events] address concerns or struggles residents and students face, and they bring awareness to the issue,” Harris said. “They also help the students form connections within RHA, and [the events] lead them towards resources to help them.”
RHA Vice President of Programming, junior graphic design major Arianna Kelly, said all students should consider attending Fall Bingo.
“It gets students together to take a break from stressful schedules, enjoy a fun atmosphere, all while having snacks and potentially winning a fun prize.”
RHA also holds weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. in the TSAR.
“[At the meetings], we participate in student government for residents, and have themes to balance out the business and encourage engagement from our members,” Harris said.
Anyone can stop by to enjoy free snacks and participate in the meeting discussions.
“It’s full of connections, fun, and opportunities to learn more about leadership and what happens backstage of campus,” Kelly said.
RHA encourages students to join them for fall bingo for a chance to fall into some luck. For more information, follow their Instagram @svsurha.
