On Wednesday January 24th, Student Life hosted the Winter RSO Fair in the TSAR.
The event began at eleven a.m. that morning and ended at two p.m. that afternoon. Over two dozen RSOs attended the event, causing the event to overflow into the hallway outside.
Most RSOs had their tables stocked with free stuff such as stickers, candy, pens/pencils, and even notebooks.
Reecie Nerenberg-Meeker, a Graphic Design freshman, attended the fair.
“Originally, I went just for the free stuff,” She stated.“but I ended up signing up for Rugby!”
This event was a wonderful way to attract members and volunteers for these organizations. I even plan to join some of the RSOs next year.
Notably well-known organizations in attendance included Forever Red an organization focused on connecting students with alumni and The Resident Housing Association, which acts as an outlet for SVSU residents who want to impact their community.
Also in attendance were more academic, leadership and volunteer based organizations such as The Roberts-Gilbertson Fellowship, Alternative Breaks, and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
The event also hosted faith-based groups such as His House, and exercise empowerment groups like F.E.M.E and CHAARG.
There were also booths for all the sororities and fraternities of SVSU, giving srudents interested in greek life a chance to find their perfect spot.
Many other organizations at the fair were looking for volunteers. For those of you looking for volunteer opportunities, contact information for these organizations are listed below.
The rest of the RSOs in attendance included club sports and interest groups.
Club sports included Women’s Rugby, SVSU Sailing, SVSU Stock Team (Equestrian), and Red Royalty Dance, all of which are requiting.
The interest groups ranged from Michigan Farm Bureau, SVSU’s Model UN, Black @ SVSU, Studying Japanese, Game Design, Health and Physical Education, Chemistry, and Physics Club.
More information for meantioned RSO’s can be found on corq, or through attending future events.
