Cats vs. Dogs: Vanguard dog responds to pup slander

I have two kitty friends that I love a lot. I think they’re really cool, even if they don’t always want to play with me.

However, as a USDA certified good girl, I can’t just sit here and let dogs be defemated week after week, so here are some reasons why you should side with the dogs in this debate.

Number one- We’re the gold standard.

Cats are nice and all, but whenever you hear someone talking about a really good cat, they say that they’re like a dog.

If cats are so much better, why don’t we say that good dogs are like cats?

Us pups are the gold standard for how pets should be, so that makes us the best.

Number two- We make you feel needed.

My kitty friends are so independent, sometimes I worry that my mom won’t know how much we really need her.

That’s why I try my best to need a lot of special care, because only a special mom could keep up with me.

How unrewarding it must feel to spend all that time caring for an animals, just to have them stick up their nose at you because they’re so independent!

Us dogs are a diverse species, some of us need a lot of care, some of us are just as independent as cats can be, theres a dog for everyone.

Number three- We’re hard workers.

Sure, cats can find a mouse (if they feel like it) but dogs can find survivors after a disaster, the first signs of a medical emergency, and dangerous things at airports.

Us dogs are known for being smart, loyal, and hardworking 24/7. That’s why we’re the service animals, not cats.

Dogs help to keep people safe, whether thats by barking at strangers at home, guiding the blind, or sniffing hikers out of an avalanche.

Even dogs who aren’t trained as service animals do heroic acts every day, especially when it comes to protecting the kids in our families.

Sure, cants may have more neurons, but you’ve got to be pretty smart to do the things we do, too.

Dogs also provide great emotional support to those who need it. We visit hospitals, nursing homes, and disaster-struck areas as therapy dogs to help our human companions feel their best.

Kitties help people feel their best too, but they’re too shy to show their whiskers on the front lines like us.

Number four- we help your physical health too.

Yeah, it’s a lot of work to take us outside and play fetch, but it’s good exercise.

Physical and mental health go hand in hand, and a nice stroll around the block everyday is a good way to get your blood pumping, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and even some cancers.

Exercising alone can be daunting, but when you have a dog, you have a built-in workout buddy.

Number five- we’re your best wingman.

Can you name a single person who doesn’t want to pet the dogs they come across on a walk?

Neither can I.

Dogs help their owners make new friends, especially when you take us to dog parks.

Everyone there has something in common- they love dogs!

Number six- We’re better for families.

Dogs are, in general, better with kids and other animals than cats.

I go out of my way every day to tell my cat brothers I love them, but they only hiss back at me.

When we have guests, I’m always excited to greet my new friends, but coaxing my brothers out to say hello is a chore.

Dogs need to be bathed, walked, and fed a bit more than cats do, and that means we’re great at helping you to learn responsibility and patience.

We can help the little humans get out extra energy every day, and we do our best to protect them too.

I could tell you more about how good dogs are, but I think it would be better for you to go to your local shelter and find out for yourself.

I don’t think we should have to fight about who’s better, because we’re both pretty good.

I just wish that people would stop saying that we’re dirty, dumb and unwieldy when we’re just as good as our kitty friends

There are a lot of lonely dogs who would love to come home with you or even just have the one on one attention of a stroll outside of their kennel for a few minutes.

I know there are a lot of kitties who need homes too, and I think that you should bring home one of those, too.

I love my kitty friends, after all. I just want to live in a world where we can all be best friends and get along
