SVSU’s African Student Union(ASU) hosted a women’s table sit on Thursday to celebrate Women’s History Month.
ASU members celebrated women on campus by handing out bags full of different products to them.
The table sit took place outside of the library from noon to four.
The president of Tamia Kadesha, international business and supply chain management junior said the event had a few different goals, all of which were aimed at celebrating women.
“To spread love and appreciation to all the women on campus by gifting them small tokens of goodies such as a couple of chocolates, candies, inspirational quotes and for some lucky ones, a bracelet,” Kadesha said.
Kadeska said approximately 70 people stopped by the table to grab a goody bag.
She worked on the event with ASU vice president Nimnan Wuyep, an international studies and communication junior.
They both enjoyed getting the opportunity to speak to everybody.
“Our favorite part definitely had to be meeting and interacting with different women,” they said.
ASU posted the event on its Instagram story to let followers know about the event. Students can find the ASU page at svsu_asu.
