University administrators addressed SVSU’s fall plans in a virtual town hall meeting June 11.
President Don Bachand recapped the university’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Part of the response was to create the teams now working on the New Expectations for a Safer Tomorrow (NEST) plan. The teams have been looking at national guidelines and what other universities and businesses are doing to reopen.
SVSU is also looking at a new partnership with Covenant to ensure students have access to additional medical services.
University faculty and staff will start to return in July, following safety guidelines. Classrooms, dining and housing are still being adjusted for social distancing.
Classes and on-campus activities will be addressed at the town hall meeting on June 25.
