Property Damage
At 5 p.m. on Jan. 10, a 24-year-old female student reported that someone had hit and broken her passenger door mirror and left a scratch in the door when she left her vehicle in the E-Lot. Upon looking at the cameras, officers found that a track member was walking through the parking lot with supplies and hit the mirror, which caused it to break.
Larceny
At 2:17 a.m. on Jan. 18, an officer observed two males walking to Pine Grove near the Fine Arts Building dragging a vacuum cleaner in the snow. When the officer made contact with the males, he noticed that the vacuum was the same type used by custodial staff at SVSU. The students indicated that they found the vacuum in Curtiss Hall, so they decided to take it. The officer took the vacuum and returned it to the Doan Center, where a custodian confirmed it belonged to that building. The incident was turned over to Student Conduct Programs for review.
