Police briefs are written based on reports from University Police. They indicate preliminary descriptions of events and not necessarily actual incidents.
At 3:10 p.m. on Feb. 17, a 19-year-old male student reported that several tools were missing from his vehicle parked in J-3.
At 2:19 p.m. on Feb. 18, two 18-year-old female students reported being aggressively touched by two ex-roommates. The suspects agreed to brushing against them but said they did not do it aggressively. The incident was turned over to the Student Code of Conduct.
At 9:17 p.m. on Feb. 22, officers were called to First Year Suites for the smell of marijuana. The four students present in the room admitted to smoking. One student advised that they had marijuana and turned over four containers. The four students received MIP citations.
At 10:19 a.m. on Feb. 24, a 19-year-old female student posted a for sale ad on Facebook and was contacted by an unknown male who wanted to buy the item. The student received an email that indicated a deposit for the sale was made and waiting shipment confirmation. Once she provided the information, the man then indicated that she needed to send him more money for various reasons to complete the sale. She sent more than $1,000 to the man with no money coming back to her. She was able to stop the shipment and get the property back.
