Adjunct professor Merle Davis passed away Aug. 8 at the age of 69.
Davis was born in 1950 in Mt. Pleasant, MI, to Grant and Margaret Fitzpatrick Davis.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. His years of service concluded with his retirement from the Michigan National Guard as a Master Sergeant. Davis was a member of the American Legion.
In 1977 he married Patricia Athanasiou, his wife of 42 years.
Davis’s life included golfing, a passion for football and a love of family. He also served as a member of the St. John XXIII Parish and the Knights of Columbus in Merrill, MI.
Davis worked at the Grey Iron Foundry and was an instructor at Dale Carnegie and Davenport University. He was an adjunct professor for the SVSU College of Business and Management.
He is survived by his wife Patricia and their three sons and daughter, as well as eight grandchildren.
